Is it time for an air filter check and change in your vehicle?
Some symptoms of a dirty or clogged air filter are:
- Engine misfires
- Poor acceleration
- Hard starts
- Black smoke from tailpipe
- Reduced gas mileage
The dirty air filter restricts the air supply to the engine causing unburned fuel to form a soot residue that accumulates on the spark plug.
How often should I change my car’s air filter?
Vehicle manufacturers vary on how often you air filter should be changed, but if your car is exhibiting any of the symptoms above, it’s time to have it inspected. You candors it yourself if you’d like, or have us take a look at it for you. Your air filter should be close to white in color. If it is grey and/or filled with debris, it’s time for it to be replaced.
Proper maintenance of your vehicle (including your air filter), means fewer unscheduled and unanticipated repairs and expenses.
